The Good Earth: Introduction to Earth Science 2nd Edition by David McConnell, David Steer, Katharine Owens and Catherine Knight emphasizes three scientific themes throughout the text: scientific literacy; Earth Science and the human experience; and the science of global change.

The discussion of scientific methods is woven into the text throughout.
